Crazy people
Everyone tries to keep their blogs upbeat for the most part, don't you think? Who wants to go around and read a bunch of complaining or unhappiness? We definitely get enough of that turning on the TV or the radio or driving down the street.
Even so, this story needs to be told... I think many people have heard the story of Baby Kaleb in Tampa. There have been news stories (even in Dallas) about the response via MySpace that Kaleb's family has received about their tragedy. Kaleb was 5 months old last month when his babysitter injured him through shaken baby syndrome. He has been in PICU since May 9 fighting for his life. You can read Kaleb's story at http://www.myspace.com/kristyreynolds
I can't imagine anything happening to my children. My heart just aches for this family and what they continue to go through. The doctors do not hold much hope for Kaleb, but miracles do happen with the power of prayer. Please say a prayer for Kaleb and his family.
And on to more crazy people in my life... I've just found out that Katy's Dad has spent all her grandparents college fund savings trying to get his new business venture off the ground. One reason (of the many) that this is SO annoying is that for many years I have ignored the fact of non-payment of child support and lies and horrible behavior in knowing that her having the college fund would "make-up" for it in the long run. Bob and I never anticipated sending her to college, because since she was a baby, her grandparents have said they had that "taken care of".
It's a very horrible eye opening experience for all of us, especially since she just started driving and has been looking forward to getting her own wheels as well. Welcome to the real world, right? I just wish she didn't have to contend with the real world until after college. I was really praying for that, for her.
Aww, well. We'll figure something out. This verse helps me to remember who's in charge...
Trust God from the bottom of your heart. Don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go. He's the one that will keep you on track. ~ Proverbs 3: 5-6
